Q?Why cant i get ADSL line sync?
A.

The most common issue with Broadband ADSL is “No line synchronization”, which is where the “ADSL” light does not come on, or continues to flash (depending on your modem). This light needs to be remain solid for a Broadband service to work correctly. Line sync represents a connection between your modem/router and your local Telstra exchange. If your modem/router is not achieving sync, please read our ADSL Sync Troubleshooting Guide.

Q?ADSL Dropouts
A.

Dropouts are a very difficult issue to resolve. If the dropouts seem to be occurring at the same times each day (for example when a monitored alarm system is armed/de-armed) then it is just a case of correcting the filtering (or installing a central splitter in the case for the monitored alarm). Issues such as slow speeds and drop outs are rarely (less than 1% of the time) a problem at Telstra’s end. If the dropouts are erratic, then please follow the steps in our ADSL Dropouts Troubleshooting Guide.

Q?What is shaping
A.

Shaping allows Broadband ADSL customers to access the internet at a reduced speed after their download allowance has been exceeded. If you have exceeded your allocated download allowance in one calendar month, your upload and download speed will be reduced to 64kbps. You can view your current ADSL plan displaying your allocated monthly download allowance, and your current data usage by logging into your Easy Internet toolbox.

Q?Email Protection
A.

Easy Internet’s Email Protection package can scan your incoming email for viruses and spam before they reach your mailbox. This decreases the likelihood of a harmful message infecting your computer. If an email containing a virus is detected, the offending infected file is quarantined on Easy Internet’s servers and a notification message is sent to you detailing the infection. Easy Internet offers a free spam filter with variable levels of spam filter protection. By default spam filtering is turned off, but for no extra cost this service can be easily added to your mailbox account. For more information regarding spam filtering and how to setup spam filtering to suite your needs, feel free to contact us.

Please note that Easy Internet makes no claims or guarantees about the reliability of the virus detection service. Easy Internet strongly recommends you continue to run your own up-to-date antivirus software on your own computer or network.
